Retraining of EASSI volunteers for the community development project.

Two VVF patients taken to Gambo Sawaba Hospital, Zaria for operation and treatment.

Health awareness seminar for 250 women on VVF/RVF, haemophilia, hepatatis, HIV and AIDS. At the end of the seminar 8 participants were identified with issues related to child birth, VVF/RVF and HIV infection.

Training on compressed block moulding and laying for economic empowerment and self reliance for 25 youths.

Familiarization visit to EASSI from GIVE with 11 Kenyan volunteers in collaboration with Fantsuam Foundation at EASSI office, Zangon Kataf LGA.

HIV/AIDS awareness campaign organised in conjunction with Kataf Youth Christian Association (KYCA).

Recruited and trained 45 volunteers comprising retired nurses, midwives, agricultural workers and teachers. All 45 were equiped with the necessary volunteering skills for work in the community.

Awareness raising seminars for 300 youth drawn from the local government on mentoring, skill acquisition for sustainable livelihood and HIV/AIDS.

Mobilized and sensitized 300 women from Zango Kataf on reproductive health for the purpose of reducing child and maternal mortality and personal hygiene.

Awareness raising outreach on prevention and care of VVF in Zangon Kataf. At the end, one VVF patient was taken to Gambo Sawaba General Hospital Zaria in collaboration with Rotary Club, Kaduna. Patient was later discharged and settled with a soft loan to start sewing and grains sale in Narayi, Kaduna.

Mobilization and sensitization campaign for 500 women to participate in the medical check up program provided by the Red Cross International.

Awareness raising seminar organised for 300 farmers in Zangon Kataf LGA. Encourged them to get involved in the World Bank program that is been operated in partnership with Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture (Fadama II project).
